Knights Youth Drama Society is a thriving community group, with a very friendly atmosphere. If you are interested in making friends and having fun, whilst learning how to perform on stage, then KYDS is perfect for you! As a member of the society, you will be given the opportunity to audition for parts in productions, as well as being given the opportunity to be involved in helping out backstage, with the technical side of productions, or with aspects of the society such as publicity.

KYDS is always on the look out for new under 18 youth members to join the ranks. But as well as new members, we are always looking for adult volunteers to help supervise different aspects of the society.

Membership Types

There are 3 types of membership on offer:

Youth Membership

Youth Membership is available for anyone between the age of 11-18. A youth member is not entitled to vote, and therefore each youth member will have a proxy to vote on their behalf - this will be either a parent, or another responsible adult.

Adult Membership

Adult Membership is available to anybody 19 + who wishes to be involved with the group in terms of assisting with production, not acting. For any direct involvement with youths, this type of membership will require a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check.

Honorary Membership

This membership is for anyone who has been granted honorary membership to the group. This can only be granted by the committee, and can also be revoked by the committee. All positions on the committee also carry Honorary Membership.

As well as the above annual membership fee, members may also be required to pay for scripts as well as other fees for social events etc.

Waiting List

Sadly, KYDS can also only provide adult supervision for a certain number of young people. For this reason, we have a waiting list in place.

When you contact us, we will advise you whether or not there are places available. If there are not, we will take your name and phone number and contact you when there is a place available.
